Koppd is a small UK product that exists for one reason: to make AI genuinely useful for business owners — not impressive to investors. No hype, no jargon, no "don't get left behind" framing.

THE STORY

Why Koppd exists.

I'm Michael — a non-technical founder who spent years running businesses before I got obsessed with AI. When I started looking for "AI for business owners" products, everything was either cringe content for creators, or enterprise software pitched at CFOs at Goldman Sachs. Nothing in the middle for the actual business owner.

So I built it. Koppd is the thing I wish someone had handed me three years ago — a plain-language crash course, a growing library of things you can actually use, and a way to hire someone to build what I couldn't build myself.

We do three things, and we try to do them properly. Free content for the curious. A paid course for the serious. A vetted marketplace for when it's time to build. That's it.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our principles.

Useful, not impressive.

The hype sells products. We'd rather sell understanding. If you leave an interaction with us feeling smarter — not more overwhelmed — we've done our job.

Plain English, every time.

No jargon, no "AI-powered paradigm shifts". If we can't explain it to a business owner in a single sentence, we probably don't understand it yet either.

Vetting, not bidding.

When you hire a builder through Koppd, you hire someone we'd personally hire. No portfolios we haven't read. No bidding wars. No race to the bottom.

Small on purpose.

We keep the course cohorts small and the builder bench small. Growth for its own sake turns every part of an experience into a worse version of itself. Not our thing.

Honest about what we are.

We're not an agency, not a SaaS company, not a YouTube channel. We're a small UK product that helps owners use AI. When we launch things, we launch them properly — no pretending the marketplace is live when it isn't.

Our people first.

Course attendees, builders, and clients all talk to a human at Koppd. No chatbots pretending to be us. No support tickets lost in a queue. Reply times in hours, not days.

WHERE WE STAND

Principles are cheap. Refusals are expensive.

Anyone can write a values page. These are three things we've turned down — and will keep turning down — even when it costs us money. This is the bit to hold us to.

We will never run an affiliate for a tool we don't personally use every week.
Our stack list is the one we actually use — not the one that pays us the most commission. If a tool stops being good, we drop it from the list, even if it's a revenue hit. We've already said no to three affiliate deals for "leading AI platforms" that neither of us has touched since their demo.

We will never put more than 10 people in a cohort.
Small rooms make the day work. Bigger rooms make it a show. Ten is the ceiling — not "unless we really need the money", not "for a corporate booking", not ever. If a cohort sells out, we add another date. We don't squeeze the room.

We will never match you with a builder we haven't personally hired.
Every builder on the Koppd bench has shipped real work we stood behind — either for us directly, or for someone we trust who'd vouch for them in writing. No "promising portfolios", no bench fillers, no "they're probably fine". If we don't have the right match for your brief, we'll tell you and refer you elsewhere.
Koppd is the result of a lot of time spent asking "why is this so hard?" — and then building the easier version.
